Customer Reviews
Great Coffee--competetive price!I've had my Keurig brewer for 5 months and have tried a lot of brands and the Coffee People Donut Shop regular is among my favorites. Green Mountain Nantucket Blend and Timothy's Italian Blend are also favorites.
One reviewer remarked about Subscribe & Save costing less. It's only a dollar and a few pennies cheaper than this packaging and Subscribe and Save does not offer Donut Shop "regular" but instead has "Extra Bold". Also, this packaging gives you 50 k-cups as opposed to 48 (2) 24 count packages in Subscribe & Save.
Another reviewer complained about not having the standard boxes to dispense the coffee. I purchased a K-Cup carousel, available on Amazon for $19.95 that holds 26 k-cups; it looks nicer by my Keurig than cardboard boxes.
My Favorite K-Cup
My favorite K-Cup flavor! A mild rather than a strong coffee strength, it really has a flavor reminiscent of a local donut shop or Denny's cup of coffee.
Highly recommended!
Very Nice Medium Roast Flavor
To cut to the chase, this produces a very good MEDIUM roast style cup of coffee...period. Some folks tend to compare all coffees to one another no matter what the bean is and how it's roasted. I do roast my own green beans (home roaster) when I brew a pot of coffee every morning and use the K-Cups when only a single cup is needed. If you don't like that 'in your face' dark roast, dense, heavy style of coffee in the morning (or any time for that matter) this is definitely the coffee for you. It's not bitter, a bit floral, with a true pure coffee taste. Does it match Dunkin Donuts style coffee in taste? I'd say YES to that when using the middle cup size setting on the Keurig brewer....which I use for folks that take milk in their cup, I use the larger cup setting because I drink my coffee black and like that taste profile. The new packaging is OK (you get 2 extra K-Cups for the $$) as long as you have the room in your kitchen to store the larger single box....as opposed to storing the two 24 cartridge boxes.

An extremely flavorful light-roast coffeeOne of the pleasures of a Keurig is that you can serve a friend or a guest a cup of coffee that will please them and their tastes, not just what you brew for yourself everyday. I happen to enjoy strong, deeply roasted blends (the kind that you usually find at the specialty coffee shops which seem to be all over the place now). However, not everyone shares my enjoyment of a strong, full-bodied cup of coffee.
I have many friends who often say something like "I love coffee but Starbucks is just too strong for me". Enter Donut Blend. I have purchased many boxes of Coffee People's Donut Shop Coffee and it is a favorite for many of my friends and family. When Timothy's announced that they were coming out with the "Original Donut Blend" I got in line to try it. Here is my take on it:
It is certainly a little lighter than Coffee People's version but the taste is more complex with clean, bright notes of spice and low acidity. Surprisingly, it reminds me a little of the Peaberry Kona coffee that I brought back from Hawaii. It is a perfect blend for those who like their coffee black or with just a little cream and still want it to taste like coffee. If someone drinks several cups a day I think that Timothy's Donut Blend will not overwhelm their taste buds and will still taste fresh cup after cup. Mind you, I drink Newman's Own Bold Blend on a regular basis and will continue to do so, but if I am having more than two cups (for those "special" mornings when nothing seems to go right) or if I am having a cup later in the day I will drink this one.
Just rating it on what I want in a coffee I give it four stars, but judging it for what it is (and not just what I like), it fully delivers and deserves five stars.
Coffee People Medium Extra Bold, Donut Shop K-Cups for Keurig Brewers (Pack of 50) [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging]
Timothys Donut Shop
I currently use Coffee People's version of Donut Shop and when I saw Timothy's version I wanted to give it a try. This is not as full body as Coffee People's version but I really like the smooth low acidity taste. If you don't want a bold rich flavor I think you will love this smooth great tasting coffee as much as I do.
Nice, smooth, mild flavor
Like a lot of the other reviewers, I'm a fan of Coffee People's Donut Shop and wanted to try Timothy's new Donut Blend. First, Timothy's Donut Blend is a mild blend, unlike the medium bodied Coffee People. I brewed the first cup using the largest cup setting, which was a bit too mild for my taste. So, to compensate, I brewed the next cup using the middle brew button, and I enjoyed it more.
Outside of my personal strength preference, this is a very good tasting coffee. It has a pleasant aroma that is followed by a smooth, mellow taste. The lightness of this coffee belies it's caffeine kick... I'm not sure why, but this stuff wakes me up better than the stronger Coffee People's blend, (bizarre!).
Big question... will I buy it again? Probably. While I'm not a fan of strong Starbuck's coffee, Timothy's Donut Blend, even on the mid setting, is a bit too mild for me to enjoy everyday. However, the packaging is so adorable, how could I not keep at least a few around for when I need a quick, pick-me-up!
Coffee People K-Cup Extra Bold Organic, Dark Roast Coffee for Keurig Brewers, 24-Count Boxes (Pack of 2)
Customer Reviews
the best of the bestMy husband and I are crazy about Coffee People k-cups. A friend gave us a box of the "Donut Shop" cups and they are spectacular. Very rich and bold, not bitter, but packs a nice punch. Reminds me of coffee from an old-fashioned percolator. A good, strong cup of coffee is hard to come by when you are using some of these newer brewing machines, but the Keurig system is definitely the exception and this variety of k-cup is the best we have ever tasted.
Wake Up To Caffienated Perfection!
We purchased a Keurig brewing system early this year, so we've been trying out as many different varieties of coffee as possible. This coffee is -- BAR NONE -- the best of the bunch. It is rich, syrupy and just a bit sweet. My experience, thus far, has been that the K-Cups listed as "extra bold" produce the best cups of coffee, but many of those are only available in dark roasts, while I prefer a medium roast. If you're a fan of a good, old fashioned diner-style cup of coffee (like what you can get if you go to Dunkin Donuts or somewhere like that), then this is the brew for you. We love it and make sure we always have some on hand.
Great bold coffee
The donut shop coffee is delicious. Most of the K-cups I have tried are on the weak side, so I was pleasantly surprised that this coffee was strong and had a great flavor.
